Debra A. Robinson
Debra A. Robinson concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, elder law, asset protection and business law. Debbie prepares wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives and prenuptial agreements. She forms business entities including corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, and prepares business documents such as buy sell agreements and operating agreements. Debbie assists clients with probate and trust administration, as well as guardianships for minors and incapacitated adults. She also provides guidance on Medicaid planning.
Debbie earned her bachelor’s degree from Adelphi University, cum laude, in 1973, and her law degree from The University of Chicago Law School in 1979. Debbie has been practicing law in the metropolitan Atlanta area since 1985.
Debbie’s husband died of cancer at the age of 39, leaving her with two young children to raise alone. Despite her law degree and several years of working in a law firm, she was not prepared for the legal and financial issues she faced as a widow. It was through this personal experience that she found her life’s purpose – to become a skilled estate planning and elder law attorney, and use her expertise to assist her clients to preserve their assets and protect their families in the event of incapacity or death.
Debbie is a member of the Fiduciary and Elder Law Sections of the State Bar of Georgia, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Real Property and Probate Section of the American Bar Association. She is a former board member of the North Fulton Bar Association.
Debbie is a frequent lecturer on estate planning and elder law issues both to professional and community groups.
Debbie has consistently been awarded an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell, which indicates that her peers rank her at the highest level of professional excellence. Since 2014, she has been named by The National Advocates as a Top 100 Lawyer.
Debbie was a hospice volunteer for many years. She now volunteers as a friendly visitor for North Fulton Senior Services and for the Friends of East Roswell Library.
James M. Miskell
Jim Miskell is the principal attorney and founder of the Estate Law Group of Georgia, James M. Miskell, PC, and practices exclusively in the areas of Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Probate. Jim began his law career more than 28 years ago as an Assistant District Attorney, specializing in prosecuting crimes against children and special victims.
For the past decade, Jim has been in private practice as The Estate Planning Law Group of Georgia, James M. Miskell, P.C. and now specializes in wills, trusts, estate planning, and elder law, helping families plan for all stages of their lives.
No two families are the same and no two estate plans are the same. Jim believes that estate planning is most effective when you understand all of your options before making any major decisions. To that end, the Estate Planning Law Group of Georgia, James M. Miskell, PC, offers free educational workshops so that clients discover potential issues and options for their families. Then, in consultation, families can make informed decisions in planning for the future.
Jim and his wife, Jane, make Johns Creek their home. They are parents to three fantastic kids. Matthew is studying at UNG and William and Mary Kate are at Northview High School. On the weekends, you can find Jim and Jane at the kids’ sporting events, on the hiking trail or working on projects at the house.
Jeremiah D. Amos joined Debra Robinson Law Group in 2018 as an associate attorney and focuses his practice on all aspects of estate planning and administration. He drafts trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and health care directives. He also guides clients through the probate process.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 2008 and his law degree from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School in 2013. Throughout his career, Jeremiah has practiced in the areas of estate planning, family law, civil litigation, and corporate compliance.
Jeremiah’s dedication to helping clients with their estate planning needs began during his time as a family law attorney. It was then that he found a passion for assisting clients through the sometimes complicated matters surrounding estate planning; educating clients about the options available to them became his priority. After seeing first-hand the ways in which a well-organized estate can benefit individuals and their families—often in their most difficult times—Jeremiah made the decision to follow that passion and devote his career to providing clarity and peace of mind for his clients.
Born and raised in Roswell, Georgia, Jeremiah has spent the better part of his adult life in North Fulton. He is a member of the North Fulton Bar Association, the Estate Planning Council of North Georgia, the Stonewall Bar Association, and the Fiduciary and Elder Law Sections of the State Bar of Georgia. He enjoys running and being outdoors in his free time. He lives in Johns Creek with his canine companion, Piper, and his cat, Beauregard.
Randy Cloud joined our firm as Firm Administrator in 2020, bringing over a decade of management experience with a strong focus on client experience and operational excellence. His ability to balance daily operations while developing a strategic vision for the firm's future makes Randy instrumental to the team's continued success. He is responsible for managing business development, client relationships, office operations and financial accounting.
Randy has learned the importance of proper estate planning through a very personal experience. In his early 20's, Randy's mother passed away unexpectedly without a completed will. He spent the next year navigating probate while trying to grieve his loss. This experience, combined with a desire to protect his own young family, has inspired a passion to help all families achieve peace of mind while planning for the future.
Randy spent his childhood in Maine and after attending Winthrop University in South Carolina, Randy settled in Atlanta. His four-year-old son, Nash, loves spending time outdoors. As a family they enjoy cooking, camping, biking and canoeing.
Amanda Minter joined our firm in 2018, and brings over a decade of customer service expertise to the team at Debra Robinson Law Group. Her dedication to operational excellence and client experience make her a naturally good fit for the firm. She balances administrative tasks with client experience and marketing for the firm.
In recent years Amanda has experienced some of the greatest joys and sorrows of life including her own marriage, the introduction of a stepson into her family, and the loss of her closest friend to cancer. Navigating these life experiences has given her first-hand experience with the issues that so many of our clients face.
After attending Agnes Scott College she lived in a number of places from New York to Hawaii, ultimately settling in Johns Creek, GA. She spends her free time playing tennis with her husband and stepson or taking neighborhood strolls with their dog, Bodie.

Debbie is extremely knowledgeable and provides information in a manner that can be understood, and is very thorough with every task at hand. ALICE L. COLLIEN
"I have contracted Debbie for personal and business legal matters for many years. In addition to my own needs, my wife and I are now beginning to care for our parents — facing a whole new set of legal matters. In every situation, Debbie not only understands what we must do, but she also empathizes with the emotions involved. She creates an environment of calm and confidence as we navigate totally unfamiliar ground. Debbie’s practice reminds me of something I heard years ago: ‘Very few people care how much you know until they know how much you care.'"
"Debbie addressed our complex will and estate planning needs as if they were her own, ensuring that our wishes were clearly incorporated into all documents. We truly appreciate the firm’s professionalism, legal knowledge and undivided attention to the unique requirements of each client. It is a pleasure dealing with Debbie and the entire staff, putting our minds at ease regarding some of the most important facets of our lives."
